Supreme Court Constituted A 12-member National Task Force To Ensure Oxygen Supply To States

New Delhi:- In the middle of the pandemic , the Supreme Court repeatedly monitoring and hearing the PIL from the states over shortage of Oxygen Supply, keeping this in view the apex court said the national task force will be responsible for formulating a methodology for the scientific allocation of medical oxygen to states amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Further, Issuing the order, from bench DY Chandrachud and Justice MR Shah said this taskforce would be at liberty to draw upon the human resources of the Union government for consultation and information. It would also be free to formulate its modalities and procedure for working.

The order also said, “”The court suggested that an expert body drawn of renowned national experts with diverse experience in health institutions can be considered for being set up as a national task force, which will provide a public heath response to the pandemic on the basis of a scientific approach. The Solicitor General informed the court that the Union government has responded favorably to the suggestion,”
