Siren News, Agartala, Oct 23 : The National Ayurveda Day is celebrated today. The day is celebrated on Dhanvantari Jayanti to create awareness about the health benefits of Ayurveda and to promote the Ayurvedic lifestyle. The theme of this year Ayurveda day is Ayurveda for Poshan. The objective of the day is to focus on strengths of Ayurveda and its unique treatment principles. The main aim of Ayurveda is prevention of disease and promotion of health.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said the Ayurveda Day celebrations are being held under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative. Ayurveda is ingrained in our tradition. This 5000 years old medical science is a blessing in our life. It can be taken to every house so that people can be cured through Ayurveda. This platform is being used to promote Ayurveda in a wider way so that people can live positively.
The government has taken several steps to promote Ayurveda due to whiche the exports of Ayurvedic products have increased. The significant increase has been witnessed in export of spices like turmeric, ginger considered as immunity boosters.
