Actor Jagesh Mukati, popularly known for acting as Lord Ganesha in 2000 Indian mythological series has expired.
Ganesha passed away on June 10 at the age of 47.
The news was confirmed by Gujarati theatre actor Sanjay Goradia.
Jagesh was taken to Juhu’s CritiCare hospital on Friday, June 5. He had asthma and obesity-related health issues for a long period. As per protocol, Jagesh underwent a test for COVID-19 the result of which was negative but his oxygen level was low which made asthma getting worse.
Jagesh Mukati was born to Mr. Uday Mukati and Mrs. Panna Gandhi Mukati in Mumbai. He began his career as a theatre artist and acted in various Hindi and Gujarati plays. His first on-screen appearance was in Baal Krishna when he was just 10 years old. In adulthood, the actor made his debut in 1999 in Amir Khan and Manisha Kairala’s Mann. His performance in Shree Ganesh earned him fame in 2000. He acted in popular TVserials like Sony TV’s Amita ka Amit and Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma and was featured in more than 50 TV Commercials. Jagesh also acted in Hasee Toh Phasee in 2014 with Siddharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra.
Mukati’s final Dhollywood movie was co-starred by Arohi Patel in 2019.
Celebrities took on to social media to mourn his untimely demise.
Actor Jimit Trivedi wrote, “2020 has again snatched away one more smile from earth.. Jagesh bhai will miss our maddening conversations; laughter… May you rest in laughter.”
Aarohi Patel wrote, “I had a privilege to meet this gem of a person during Chaal Jeevi Laiye. He was always smiling and was a very considerate; compassionate person. May his soul rest in peace. You will be missed, Jagesh bhai.”
