On 26th June, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi addressed media and through video conferences, PM interacted with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other officials. In their presence PM launched Atmanirbhar UP Rojgar Abhiyan. This scheme will provide employment opportunities to migrant workers; along with it, local entrepreneurship will also get promoted. The campaign is being launched for those who were affected due to coronavirus pandemic. The initiative of Atma Nirbha is a path-breaking project and mega job scheme for migrant workers that will make India self-reliant.
The PM also mentioned that it will also encourage industrial relations and other organizations to create employment opportunities. The UP Rojgar Abhiyan is in addition to the Centre’s schemes being run under the Atmanirbhar Bharat programme to bolster various sectors. The 125-day campaign will provide employment to migrant workers and others in the state. PM also interacted with small entrepreneurs who generated employment for industries like bakery and hosiery and have plans to expand.
PM Modi praised the efforts of Uttar Pradesh Government the way it handles the Corona situation and said: “it is unprecedented, it is praiseworthy.” PM further added “the efforts and achievement of Uttar Pradesh is massive because it is not just one state, but it is a bigger state than many other countries in the world. The kind of hard work done by the government of Uttar Pradesh is praise-able because it has managed to save the lives of at least 25 thousand people and save the lives of the people matter of great achievement and satisfaction as well.”
