Shadow of coronavirus Lingers Over the Stone-laying Ceremony of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple

Ahead of the groundbreaking ceremony (Bhumi Puja) of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple, the shadow of coronavirus lingers over the event after priest Pradeep Das, the ‘shishya’ of Acharya Satendra Das, and 16 security personnel tested positive for Covid-19. Pradeep is one of the four priests who carry out puja regularly at the site had been advised to be in-home quarantine following the protocol and contact tracing has been done. The other priests, including the chief priest, have all tested negative for the virus but some media personnel who visited Das earlier this week are being worried.

Preparations are in full swing for the grand ceremony and Ram Mandir Teerth Kshetra Trust is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the grandeur and publicity of the program. The stone-laying ceremony of the Ram Temple on August 5 will be performed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, The glorious event is expected to be attended by 200 people amid pandemic. UP’s coronavirus cases count swelled up to 81,039, including 32,649 active cases, and 1,587 deaths, as on today.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued new guidelines on July 30 which states that any kind of social or political, sports and entertainment, academic cultural and religious function and other large convocations shall remain suspended till further notice.
